Children’s Swim Classes

Check our our Award-Winning Children’s Swim programs! We offer classes and programs for every skill level and age. You can be sure your child receives the very best instruction from our highly certified instructors. Enroll your children in one of our comprehensive swim programs and they will feel safe and confident around the water.

Parent / Tot Beginner

Infants and toddlers will develop water comfort in a safe, fun environment using games, songs and repetition. Suited for infants and toddlers not yet walking, minimum age 6 months.

Parent / Tot Advanced

Your child will develop basic swim skills such as floats and supported glides using fun, engaging exercises. Usual age 15 to 36 months.

Pre School 1

For the child who is ready to “do it myself” and must be able to walk on their own.  We focus on proper water entry and develop comfort in the water through games and songs.  Ages 3+.

Pre School 2

For children who are ready to go underwater and are able to follow simple instructions in a group setting.  We will introduce floating with assistance on the front and back, kicking, and simple arm motions.  Ages 3+.

Pre School 3

For children who are ready to go underwater.  Children will expand on skills learned in Pre School 2.  Children will be introduced to front crawl in this level.  Ages 3-5.

Level 1

Children will learn to float on their front and back without support.  we will work on kicking and arm motions both separately and combined.  Ages 5+.

Level 2

We will work on gliding, kicking, and arm motions.  Children must have passed Level 1 or are able to go underwater and float on their front and back unassisted for 5 seconds.  Children will learn different kinds of kicking and be introduced to the front crawl and elementary backstroke.  Ages 5+.

Level 3 (ages 4-6)

Participants will perform and learn stroke development as well as jumping into deep water from the side and swimming the front crawl for 15 yards.  Maintaining position by treading or floating for 30 seconds and swimming the elementary backstroke for 15 yards. Participants will perform flutter kick and rhythmic breathing, survival float, front crawl and tread water using arm and leg actions. Once Level 3 skills are achieved, participants receive a completion certificate and they are ready to move on to Level 4.  Ages 4-6.

Level 3 (ages 7+)

Participants will perform and learn stroke development as well as jumping into deep water from the side and swimming the front crawl for 15 yards.  Maintaining position by treading or floating for 30 seconds and swimming the elementary backstroke for 15 yards. Participants will perform flutter kick and rhythmic breathing, survival float, front crawl and tread water using arm and leg actions. Once Level 3 skills are achieved, participants receive a completion certificate and they are ready to move on to Level 4.  Ages 7+.

Level 4

Participants will perform and learn stroke development and increase their endurance by swimming familiar strokes for greater distances.  Students will build on scissors kick and dolphin kick by adding arms for sidestroke and butterfly.  They will also learn the back crawl and breaststroke and the basics of turning at a wall.  They will also learn swimming the front crawl for 25 yards, swimming the elementary backstroke for 25 yards, swimming the breaststroke for 15 yards and swimming the back crawl for 15 yards.  Once all Level 4 skills are achieved, participants  receive a completion certificate and they are ready to move on to Level 5.  Ages 5+.

Level 5

Participants must be able to swim 15 yards of all strokes in order to enroll in this level.  The objectives of this level are coordination and refinement of all strokes: front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and sidestroke as well as increase their distances.

Level 6: Advanced Level

These classes go beyond basic stroke education and apply what has been learned through three main topics: Fitness Swimming, Personal water Safety, and Lifeguard Readiness.  This class is for the student who wants to advance on to a Lifeguard certification later.
